How awesome is it that you can read your favorite novel on your laptop or iPhone?
On the bus, in the train...ANYWHERE...as long as you have wireless connection to down load the e-book in PDF format. :) But Amazon don't only sell e-books. They sell loads of other stuff as well. Like CDs, DVDs, cosmetics and furniture. :)
Amazon used the basic seller-to-buyer approach which really is not much different from other online shops but its unique selling point would be its range of products and how it enables buyers to customize their buying experience. For example, after being a frequent buyer on Amazon, the website will post recommendations of items that may be within your interest because they keep record of your previous purchases on your page once you log in. Amazon.com knows your name and will try to be help you make your online shopping experience less of a hassle. It's just like having your own personal shopper! :D WOW~!
Amazon.com also have implemented a multi-leveled e-commerce strategy whereby they allow users to sell almost anything on their website. As a user, you can find used goods, refurbished goods and also auction for items. Therefore, its business model is the Merchant model.
